Event ID 32003 is logged when the Call Park service cannot start in a Lync Server 2010 environment

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You deploy Microsoft Lync Server 2010 in an environment that has multiple domains. You cannot access a domain controller in certain domains. In this scenario, the Call Park service cannot start, or it takes a long time to start. Additionally, the following event is logged in the Lync Server log:


Additionally, you might encounter one or more of the following issues:

  • The Lync Server 2010 Audio Test service cannot start.
  • The Lync Server 2010 Conferencing Announcement service cannot start.
  • The Lync Server 2010 Conferencing Attendant service cannot start.
  • The Lync Server 2010 Response Group service cannot start.
  • The Lync Server 2010 Response Group service workflow creation does not finish successfully with a time-out error.
  • The Lync Server 2010 Topology Builder takes about 20 minutes to publish a topology.
  • The Lync Server 2010 Control Panel menu takes about 20 minutes to open.
  • The Lync Server 2010 Management Shell command takes about 20 minutes to finish.

Cause

This issue occurs because Lync Server 2010 performs an inefficient Active Directory directory service lookup for the multiple domain environments which you cannot access the domain controller in certain domains.

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
